Passport

I don’t have a passport.  Yikes, I know.  So much for flying somewhere beautiful and tropical at whim…not that I could do that anyway.  Right now for me to drive to the U.S. I can use my drivers license (don’t really like to show that horrendous picture) and my birth certificate.  I know this is changing, and we’ll need a passport to drive, but I’m not exactly sure when.

So I can no longer put it off.  I spent yesterday filling out all the forms for the four of us.  What a big pain in the ass!!  Now we all have to go get photo’s done, get someone to fill in the Declaration of Guarantor (to verify we are who we say we are) then mail off the forms (praying I did it all right) and send originals of our birth certificates.  I absolutely hate sending originals of anything.  If they come back to me I’ll be surprised, because I certainly don’t expect them to.  But it really is crazy that I left it this long.

Two more days until the weekend! Yay!  Anyone have any plans.  Sleep is at the top of my list.

  1. We got passports last year and it’s a royal pain filling everything out. But at least it seems to be quicker now than it was.

LOL Sleep is near the top of my list too!

  2. Cathy, I just got my passport in the mail earlier this week. I didn’t have any problems when I drove over in May. However, I think the deadline is June 2009. So when I decided to go to the KOD Retreat in Portland I used it as a good excuse to stop procrastinating and get it done.

Now, if that Greek Billionaire shows up on my doorstep I’m ready for travel.
